A Vision of Heaven
Sublime choral music for eternity
with Tim Wakerell (St Paul's Cathedral) organ
Sat 13th March 2010 St Mary's Church, Thame 7.30 pm
more...
For a Vision of Heaven, TCC will perform music of great beauty written to console and soothe the troubled soul.
In a concert of musical contrasts, much loved movements from the requiems of Brahms - How lovely are thy dwellings - and Faure
alternate with music by living composers including Jonathan Dove (renowned for his approachable contemporary operas),
Knut Knystedt and dynamic young musician Will Todd, whose music synthesizes mysticism with blues influences.
Also included in this programme of divine inspirations is music by composers of the cathedral tradition:
Byrd, Parry, Harwood and Harris.
The Glory of Venice
Finest baroque splendour
with Interplayperiod instruments
Sat 3rd July 2010 St Mary's Church, Thame 7.30 pm
more...
For most of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries Venice was the wealthiest place on earth.
Trade brought incredible riches and, through that, extraordinary artisitic achievements.
The greatest composers, such as Gabrieli, Monteverdi and Vivaldi, were drawn there and wrote
their finest music in the city. Joined by young baroque specialists, TCC will recreate the sound
and splendour of the Glory of Venice.
Tickets - 4 ways to book
